It's a New Sales Semester, Time for a Report Card

Back to school time is a good time to look at your sales report card. What is yours telling you?

Did you get an A?

If so, congratulations! The A speaks to your behaviors and relationship skills. Bravo, well done.

Did you get a C or lower?

Look at your sales behaviors and your relationship skills. Sales is just that, a report on how many new calls we made or referrals we asked for and how we are doing in our relationships. That is the beauty of sales. We do not have to look too far to see how we are doing. We get a report card monthly.

If you got a C or lower, look to improve in those areas. Get help... get a coach or take some training. Ask your boss to help.

If you got a B or higher, you are doing the behaviors in front of the customer and on the road each day that is bringing success. Review those successes and repeat. Also spend some time looking at what could be improved.

Sales are all about our behaviors and relationship skills.

If the report card is not what you were looking for, look in the mirror and change your daily behavior. Get some help in the relationship area. Work to improve those grades. The next report card is due out soon.

Gratefully yours,

Steve
