What is the story you are telling yourself about your career, or your relationships or about money? The story you are telling yourself is manifesting as your life. Until you can get to the stage where you can observe yourself, you cannot see that you are living in the story, let alone change it... we all have a story that we live from, what is yours? Is it holding you back somewhere or keeping you from really penetrating life fully?
Discover your story at the Men's Weekend and change it to outpicture what you really, really want in all areas of your life... health, wealth and happiness... we invite you to join us!
Men and Women have asked "what is the Men's Weekend about?" and some people have made comments like "sounds like too much testosterone for me"...
Here is what I can say;
Men's weekend is about men finding their power in their masculinity. Masculinity that is strong and not violent. Logical and decisive, without making others wrong. Masculinity that is powerful and empathetic. Unmovable where one's word has been given and inclusive of the feelings of others.
We are always harvesting something we planted and together we learn how to powerfully create the future we want by studying how nature does this in her cycles. We can do the same and be proud to be men in a society where masculinity is under attack, understandably so, as society still aligns violence with men. We all have a role in this violence and at the Men's weekends, Men learn to stand up for what is right, claiming their silent, unmovable power and say to world, "we will resolve our differences without violence. Violence no more." We make that statement using the same resolve that declared war in the past. We learn together the power to restrict our urges to anger, to sex, to sloth and claim responsibility for our lives. We support and protect our families. They know they can count on us, even in the face of tremendous challenges. We stand firm, we do not run, when we err, we own the error and apologize and ask "what would make this right?"
Together we find our purpose in life and we bring that everywhere we go without fear. We say who we are with pride. We are Men. It's ok.
This is some of what we learn by working, recreating and by classroom discussion. We spend time alone in silence. We can do this on the farm.
The November work weekend will be spent outdoors, cutting red twig dogwood around various sites in Vermont.
David Deida says "in our modern society, we lack a coherent masculine culture wherein men get together with other men and keep each other aligned to truth: "Hey friend, wake up." Men need this, otherwise they become weak and ambiguous: "I don't know what I'm going to do. Maybe I'll have a beer." Without a strong men's culture, men become unclear, indecisive and ambiguous about the direction of their lives.
He goes on to say, "shared masculine energy offers men challenge, an edge of responsibility and discipline." This is what we are doing together at the Men's Weekends... Put up, Shut up and Wake up... We combine work, recreation, lively discussion, and observations with silence and great food.
Breaking through in relationships, purpose and learning what is holding us back. Waking up to a life of purpose takes the commitment of others who see us as we really are and they are not afraid of risking our wrath to help us see what is the truth about ourselves. Men can do this with men. This is my commitment to all who come to the farm. To help all discover that "we are always harvesting something that we are planting"...
