Mastering this existence
is understanding what is real and not real. Obstacles for example are
not real. People who hold us back are not real. Judgments by others
are not real. Negative thoughts and beliefs are not real. Hurts are
not real. All of everything in our world is based upon a judgment we
make. By watching and listening to the news and talk shows one could
decide that this world is all bad. There are many wonderful events
taking place at the same time, aren't there? Is the world a bad place?
Is this world a great place or a great place with challenges?
How about your life? Are things going great? Are
things going badly? What is your dominant thought pattern?
Notice your dominant thought pattern. Notice how your
life feels to you. Are they connected? Chances are they are.
Negative thoughts are like dandelion seeds. They blow
in from no where, at any time, without warning.
Dream big. Imagine whatever you want your life to look like. Then
prepare the ground and plant the seeds of your new life. Take care to
weed the negative thoughts, people, etc. Remember negative people are
not real. They only have the power you give them. Some companies fear
telling their employees to dream big and be all that they can be
because it might mean that they leave the company. Parents and friends
sometimes do the same. Remember, if these people hold you back it is
because you have made them real.
I know of business owners
who struggle everyday. Salespeople who cannot reach their goals. I see
frustrated executives who cannot get people on the same team. All
because they cannot master what is real and what is not. They are
working on the wrong end of the problem. The problem is in their mind.
Always hold the thought
that this existence is perfect just the way it is. Be grateful. No
matter how things may seem in a given moment remember that it is not
real. Hold onto the thoughts of how it is for you and how it will be.
Train your mind to see how you want things to be by visualizing and
meditating with the end in mind. See it. Feel it.
In stressful moments, keep
in mind how you want things to be. Do not react or judge them using
your old ways of reacting. If you react in old ways and expect new
results, that is the definition of insanity. Stay with the new,
uncomfortable way. Keep your cool. Decide that whatever the challenge
is, it will blow away, like the seeds of a dandelion.
Did you ever pick a
dandelion in seed? How hard did you have to blow to scatter the seeds?
Just decide that all things are not as they seem. Keep the picture of
how your world is for you, no matter what. Persist through the doubt.
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, the 20th Century French philosopher once
said "We should like to skip the intermediate stages. We are impatient
of being on the way to something unknown. And yet it is the law of all
progress that it is made by passing through some stages of
instability." |
