Here are some thoughts for this week about succeeding:
Earl Nightingale once said, "You become what you think
about." I think that further more you become what you think about and
speak about. What are your predominant thoughts? What are the words
that you use every day to describe yourself? Are you listening?
Ask a coach to critique what he/she hears you say. Get
a mentor who is willing to risk your anger or wrath by telling you
what you need to hear rather than what you want to hear.
I was on the phone today with a client and mentor who
noted that I laughed after I made a statement about something in my
future that could happen much sooner than I had planned. He said "what
is up with that laugh?" I realized immediately that the laugh was
partly some disbelief in me, that it could actually happen, very much
like "yea, right."
I am grateful that he pointed it out to me. I made an
adjustment in my thinking right away. I was able to because of his
coaching to see how I could slow my progress toward my goals if my
language and thinking was discounting that it would never happen!
Imagine, not knowing about that potential block.
Success means including others around you who will not
accept less from you, than you yourself say you are going to do.
If you are what you are thinking and speaking about,
what are you becoming according to your own thoughts and words?
Don't believe your own mind when it says, "you can't!"
Be well,
