Hello
all,
Here is a quote to ponder for this week, "sometimes the
greatest journey in life is the distance between two people."
Isn't this a great time of year to make the trip?
While you are traveling to see loved ones... perhaps you
could call that someone that came to mind as you read the
quote.
Perhaps it's a customer lost a while back, or an employee
with whom harsh words were shared on their way out the door...
or maybe it's a relative or friend. How about Mom or Dad?
Isn't it time to stop blaming and get closer? Don't wait until
it's too late. The more difficult the journey back, the
greater the lesson learned. The more uncomfortable this
suggestion is, the better. It's a sign that the journey would
be well worth the trip.
Go on that journey with someone today, go the distance with
them and then commit to close the distance in all of your
relationships... typically, this is our block to success...
how we are in relationship to others is what holds us back.
For me, every time I work to get closer, to take that
journey between myself and another, I learn something. The
risk is worth the reward. I do not always learn what I thought
would be the lesson... usually I learn what was
required for me to grow. It is not comfortable... if it was it
would be more of the same old way for me and not growth. I
move today toward what is uncomfortable. I move closer to
those situations and people that bug me... after all, they are
reflecting back to me some part of myself that I have yet to
embrace.
Take the journey and go the distance... close that gap, and
you'll be glad you took the trip.
Gratefully yours,
Steve
