Dear clients and friends, I love this quote, especially the
"sticking to it changes everything" part. Often we start something
in our lives, plant the seed for whatever is next, and then we
begin the process of what I call the "rush to harvest."
When we don't see evidence of what we planted appearing
quickly, disappointment and doubt set in. Soon after it happens
then we quit. Disillusioned, with failure set in our mind, we give
up our dreams.
Have you ever heard stories of people who "quit just before the
finish line?"
In our society of quarterly profits, fast food and instant
gratification, we are bombarded with the idea that everything in
our lives should come quickly. Over
twenty years ago I started a new retail concept called a party
store. It opened and I was expecting that people would come in and
that the business would flourish. Well it did, but only after five
long years of steady marketing and word of mouth. I came
close to quitting and closing many times in the first two years.
Instead of giving in to the temptation to quit, I just kept going.
Many people around me suggested that I was nuts and that I should
close the store. Eventually, one store became two, and they were a
nice second income for my family for fifteen years.
Let me ask you a question;
Would you plant a tomato seed and then stand over it and yell "
ok, where are the tomatoes?"
No, of course not.
There is more than choosing your
goal or planting your seed, to reaching your dream. Certainly one
must get into action. All great discussion for another newsletter.
For now, plant the seed of your
dream. Water and fertilize it with a rich vision. Prepare for the
high winds, freezing temperatures or draught that may come and
stick to it no matter what.
Remember, it's the sticking to it
that changes everything.
Thanks Scott Reed.
The "Trek for World Peace" update.
I have a web designer who has
agreed to do the website. I still require many others to help get
this idea off the ground. Below please find the list of what I
require and please sign up to make this happen. We can, together,
create a new way for the world to resolve conflict that does not
include war.
Someone said to me the other day
"well, I believe we need the pre-emptive ability to strike." This
is the exact way to begin a dialogue of how do we solve his
concerns?
There is a way. If we do not hold
the thought that it's possible, violence and war will be the only
way. It starts with you.
Take the "Trek" with us.
Check the list and e-mail me if you
would like to help.
First, I require a website, a
writer for the website, a host for the website, an accountant and
lawyer who would agree to set up the non-profit. A graphic
designer and a printer to help with brochures and flyers.
Second, I require people to forward
this e-mail, and others that will be coming from the "Trek"
organization, to folks all around this great country and the
world.
Third, I require people from every
state and country to be the point person to coordinate the "Trek"
in their state or country. Volunteers who would enroll others,
gather e-mails and coordinate all their states efforts. Committed
people, who do what they say they will do. No quitters allowed.
Fourth, as we get going, I require
that we publicize this. Through word of mouth, e-mail, telephone,
whatever, we would need the help of the media. Who do you know
that would help?
Fifth, we would ask those who make
the "Trek" with us to solicit donations to fund this dialogue and
research and future "Treks."
Sixth, who do you know who can get
me before the United Nations to speak about the "Trek?" To prepare
the way for the peaceful march in every country and to start the
research and real dialogue.
I do not have all the details
worked out. I have detached from the outcome. I am only planting
the seed for now to see what comes up. If I let it go, yet see it,
if I hold onto the vision, the Universe will fill in the details.
Thanks, I am blessed and grateful
most of all. |
