Prosperity Institute - Steve Lentini

Hello all...

The best gift that you can give yourself... in this NEW YEAR... (Chinese New Year today) ... is to make small changes continually in your sales and personal behavior. Look at what you can change in your everyday behavior. Even top producers need to continually change to keep growth coming without a lot of stress. Top producers have to continually look at "who are they investing their time with"... and how will the day to day part of solving problems and taking orders be handled more productively. Time is their most precious asset.

Everyone in our sales organization has to commit to the idea of continual changes. Expecting miraculous sales miracles, while not a negative certainly, is not how sales works. We grow sales most effectively by looking favorably on new ideas, finding ways to do business that are uncomfortable for us both as sales people and as management. If we are not feeling stretched and uncomfortable, then we are certainly not challenging ourselves anywhere near enough.

Some small, incremental changes might be as follows;

  1. Asking existing customers for their ideas on how to grow your sales... aren't most of us doing business with some very successful business owners? Ask them too who they might know, at some of your target prospects (if you have made this incremental change).
  2. Make one more call when you are out each day.
  3. Ask existing customers how you could be a better sales person in their view... what would they like to see you change about yourself? (Wow, talk about uncomfortable)
  4. Ask those who are close to you... how you show up for them and how you could improve...
  5. Work with a few select mill reps more often.
  6. Bring something new into customers.

What are some of your ideas... for incremental change that might benefit others?

Let me know and I will share them with everyone... oh wait... that might be a small incremental change for you as well... sharing one of your ideas... instead of thinking "well no one cares what I think" or fearing rejection of the idea...

If we all learn to show up different and to continue to work on ourselves... we will hit our goals.

Thanks, this was a little uncomfortable to me to share... and that is why I did it.

Steve
