Life wants to express itself through us. Life is continually expressing itself all around us and we are a major part of that expression. We may view events as tragic, as a loss, or as happy or sad and life itself has no judgments about any of these events. Life just is.

We get in the way mostly, of life's natural expression by having judgments about all the events in our lives. What if all the events in our lives were exactly how they should be? What if nothing was out of order and we surrendered to each event in the moment? What if we did not judge events or people as good or bad and viewed them all equally, as life being the effect of our cause?

Physicists agree that we live in a cause and effect Universe, that for every cause there is an equal and opposite effect. What if we stood back from every event or person and asked, "How am I the cause of this effect?" "How did I create this and why?" "What is the lesson that life is asking me to learn?"

I believe that the Master is within and that life is the teacher. Believing that has me asking the above questions as events unfold in my life today. This was not always the case for me. I often felt like a victim, wondering, "why me?" This judgment left me feeling powerless over the circumstances in my life and blaming others around me for my effects.

Today I am grateful to know that I am the cause of my effects. There is no exception. As I have observed how my life unfolds, without judgment, I am learning what life's effects are working to teach me.

Life itself is my responsibility, my cause, my effect. The more I view life this way, the more I learn from life expressing itself through me as life working to Wake Me Up... urging me to "jump in" and take control. To take responsibility for changing and as I continue to change, things change. Others do not have to change and I cannot control them anyway, I change, things change.

Life is more fun this way, it's still challenging, and plenty of events and people do not always go my way or act like "I" want them to. Remembering though, that I created them to learn and grow, helps wake me up and take responsibility for my power to create events.

I get to live the life I imagined, as Henry David Thoreau said, "When I take control of my thinking, speaking and actions. When I do not like an effect that shows up, I reflect on how could I make things different and take action that is new." Often the new action is uncomfortable, and unlike anything I would have done in the past. I control my tendency to want to "react" and instead create a new, proactive change... and wow... things change. The amazing thing about it each time is... I was the only person that changed.

Try it yourself. Experiment with slowing down your reaction to life expressing itself. Reflect on, "what is life trying to teach me here?" "How did I create this and why?" After reflecting, take a new, uncomfortable path, one you would not have previously taken, and watch your life unfold in a new way. It may still not be your ideal outcome... and again remember the effect is life expressing itself through you to Wake You Up to where you have to grow. Jump into your life and continue to measure the effects that show up and keep changing you, The Cause.

You have more power than you know... you can create the life you have imagined. Be grateful for all of life's playful changing as you change. It's fun, enjoy the ride.
